Martinez is not a natural born citizen, so he is out.
No one over 55, 60 if they still okk young, like Mitt did this time. Sorry, we need a younger crop.
The top 5 are well-chosen. The rest give me McCain jitters. I do admit I am partial to Gingrich, though I am unsure whether or not he could carry a ticket. He’s close to being irrelavant since he hasn’t been in office for years. The same goes for Romney and Huckabee. If Mitt or Huck don’t do anything productive in the next 3 years (I don’t count hosting a show on FoxNews as such), scratch their names off as well. I’m actually warming to Jindal-Palin. I want Newt in there if only to be able to debate Biden. The most important thing is that we need someone to go after Barry on the issues.
It’s Palin/Jindal to me.
That depends on the outcome of Obama presidency. If it’s good then age will still be favored. If not, then your Jindal is out. Palin’s age will be close to Barack.
Huckabee and Romney after their loss in the primary makes them “forgone conclusion”. I blame Newt for our loss today. He should have run for President. It’s his “right time”… note the financial crisis that won Obama the presidency. He will also be considered “too old” by 2012.
Palin’s loss in the ticket will not affect her much. She is the closest rival and the antithesis of Obama today and the next 2 years. By 2012, the troopergrate will already be a forgone issue against Palin. Her daughter’s pregnancy will nolonger be with her. Her issue of “shopaholic” by the Fox News is just a vent…forgetting that Michelle Obama, Elizabeth Dole, Hillary Clinton, Condi Rice, and… all female politicians… have the same fashion for shopping… like any other American women. That’s misogynyst and many people won’t fall on that trap. Don’t ask me where Bill O Reilly or John McCain or Romney or Barack Obama put much of their money. If truth comes out, we will all be flabbergasted.
But please note tht Jindal has not been vetted yet by the enemy, MSM and the Democrats. So we don’t know the “secrets” of Jindal. He enjoys that advantage in your ranking, his “No. 1″ position is a little bit unfair.
And we still have 2 or 4 more years to come. Palin and Jindal have to prove themselves more while Obama has to prove himself too as the next “incumbent”.
Having said those, this election has reiterated time and again that “moderate” Republican candidate can never win. Either you are a conservative or you are a covert liberal/democrat. People will never choose a “hoax” republican/conservative. If they want moderate, they will go for the real thing… A democrat.
Based on the above, my ranking is something like this:
1. Palin.
2. Jindal – Good performance in the last hurricane; likable; good in investments.
3. Cantor – A Jew but “strong” conservative. He will be a good antidote to get the votes of liberal Jews comprising of 78% Jewish voters who voted for Obama and gave him Ohio, Virginia, etc.
4. Sanford
5. De Mint
That is for now. We still have to wait for these young and talented republicans to expand their experience and their accomplishments.
I know the gossip against Newt. He was too coward in accepting the mudslinging of the MSM and democrats. Compare all his personal flaws to the “gossips” against Obama. Note that HuffPo also revived the gossips against McCain.
But shoud Newt decided to run, we would have a Gingrich/Palin ticket in the WH by January 2009.
